It's more of an event if you have TWO flashlights going

But seriously, then you can see some of the hitchhikers that came in on your rock or corals. Some critters only come out at night and it's good to have an idea what little surprises you've got in your reef, like the mantis shrimp or commensal shrimp or whatever it is we found last night in our acropora.

Definitely, night viewing with a flashlight of the reef is a must
