you are correct, i have never heard of anyone ever getting southdown in canada, so i doubt it's in calgary  i can't speak for everyone else but canadian man just brought in a pallet of caribsea sugar-fine aragonite from saltwater connections in winnipeg and a few of us are using it. he's been talking about bringing more in, i'm sure he'll pipe up and let you know where that stands. there are other substrates in use as well, but i don't know as much about them (crushed coral, larger types of aragonite).
