I've run into a small hair algea problem and thought a lawnmower blenny might help solve the problem - not to mention they have a neat personality. Anyone seen one in Calgary?

Also I don't have and substrate is this going to be a problem or do they care? thanks Josh

I think the lack of substrate would be a problem though. |

Lawnmower blennies are great fish for personality - mine was a hoot when I had him.

The only thing is filamentous algae isn't really part of their natural diet. I think it's unusual (maybe impossible, don't know) to get one that eats hair algae. Mostly what they're after is that thin film of algae over hard substrate. You'll see little kiss marks all over your glass where they've scraped it clean.

Ocean City has been getting a few in every week for the past, um.. probably 4 months. I saw 2 of them there this afternoon, great size. I also picked up 3 for myself from them a few months ago for each of my aquariums.
