![]() the snail idea I think that's it. the first thing though the tentile itself has tiny little pieces running the length of it sticking out simular to the look of xeinia then there is the head and white in color and the thickness of a thread.

![]() That almost sounds like the arm of a brittlestar if I'm imagining it correctly. A picture would certainly help if you could manage it.
The other one sounds like a vermetid snail (the spider web threads)...
