So how about a bit more on what kind of finished product we are trying to achieve. I've always liked the tank stand setup that Cprowler has going on his 120g system. We want to do a control box/storage on one side on our system.

A few things that I want have on this tank;
- filtersock holder
- Removable top off container
- Automatic feeder

I'll see if I can dig up some photos of what we are aiming for, or at least drawings for comments.

Its a box!

The dilemma

So our dilemma now is the debate between going with eurobracing, or go with this non-eurobracing. My concern is that when we pop a 250w MH over this glass piece that it will hinder the light penetration in the tank. Anyone have any suggestion on this?

We are willing to buy the extra glass to do the eurobrace, we are just wondering how much of a benefit will it be to us in the long run, and in regards to using MH lighting.

Next up;
- Tank Bracing
- Floor reinforcement

Wow looks like someone wasn't playing the xbox at least
Looks good. You might consider getting the one brace re cut using starphire glass that way you can brace it the light will penetrate and cheaper than getting all that glass for eurobracing. Eurobracing is a hinderance when it comes to cleaing to, all that salt as opposed to cleaning the one brace

Good point on that....I guess I can call Bow Valley on Monday and get that cut up as well as the piece of glass for the overflow!

Think it would be the best/cheapest option. or you could always just do the four corner triangle thing...i've seen a few tanks like that...mine is like that. Seems to work...god i hope so...

How would the corner triangles stop the pains of glass from bowing out in the middle, that sounds like something to just reinforce the corners!!

I am not sure, i've just seen a lot of tanks like this...i know mine does not bow...it's 24 inches high though..maybe a tad higher...but i think 24 ?
You could ask bow valley though i think if i was building one though i would probably use bracing in the middle though..if only for piece of mind. But I have only ever built little tanks for myself
