New Algae Id plz

I have noticed a couple of different types of algae and plant in my tank lately. I was wondering first what they are and if they are good or bad.

I have recently bought a bunch more zebra hermits and the have been doing a pretty good job cleaning up the hair algae. As the hair algea dissapears these new ones appear.

First picture along with the Hair (which you need to get control of) is Halimeda (good).

Second picture Hair trying to smother your zoos.

3/4 type of Caulerpa. Not always bad but I wouldn't have in my dispaly but in a refugium where I could keep it from getting out of control.

What else can I do to help get rid of the rest of the hair algae.

do a search here on canreef, there are plenty of posts dealing with hair algae. but the basics to start with are: water (should be using r/o water), lights (age of bulbs), over feeding

These are the right identities, but personally I wouldn't want any of those in my display. Both the Caulerpa and the Halimeda can get out of hand (not to mention the hair algae!! haha), and the Halimeda uses up calcium in the aquarium (it is a calcareus algae as is coralline), and if it's really prolific can actually use up a noticable amount of calcium.

The same can be said of coralline algae, I think I'm going to go on a campaign to erradicate coralline algae from our aquariums




(ps. don't mind me I just have a thing against coralline algae lately)
