![]() I am currently making a new light hood and was wondering how you could connect and hold a couple of VHO 4' bulbs. I priced out some coralife end caps and brackets .. but they were 31 bucks. That was more than I paid for the bulbs. I need to separate them by about 8" so I can fit a couple of 175W pendants between them at either end. Does anyone have a DIY (read cheap) way to do this?

![]() I have seen a design on Garf.org
You could always make one out of wood and use hole saws to make the half circles needed for the bulbs. Many ways to do this.

![]() I had thought about wood (which I can easily do) but would you think the tubes get to hot?

![]() I would say no way ross.
If the tubes dont get hot enought to melt the acrylic then I wouldnt worry about the wood.
