I personally wouldn't keep Banded Cat Sharks in anything other than a HUGE specialised aquarium.
Have a look at this... Basic Compatibility Chart . Last edited by VFX; 01-22-2008 at 08:55 PM. Reason: add link |

Not personally but just checking...
Anyway, you asked for suggestions so here's my 2 cents... The Angels & Tangs that may be ok to keep with a Banded Cat Shark may want a bigger tank than 120g. The shrimp you want will probably become food for the shark once it's feeding ok. Also, baby sharks can be notoriously hard to feed at first. Some people even had to force feed them at 1st to stop them starving to death. Make sure you have a nice & fine sandy substrate as anything rougher will be uncomfortable for them or even damage their skin. Personally though, I wouldn't keep them as I'm no shark expert & I don't have the space for a 500+ gallon tank that they will ultimately need. Anyway, I wish I had the means & time to keep them & I really envy you that you do! Make sure you post some pics when you get your tank up & running! It'd be fascinating to see them. . |

like many have said don't do it my freind had one for um about 2 months then the facination wore off not only do you need a big tank later on they grow quick also they don't do much except for hide and come out when it's dark I would sooner put fish in the 120 and if you really want a cat shark put a rubber one under a rock cause that's basically the extent of what they do. btw not trying to be an *** or anything just telling the truth!
