![]() Chef - couple of different schools each 50+ large tangs.
Fin - these are from near Carbonera (near the junction of the main highway and the Airport). Lots of fish, not a lot of colours to the corals (shades of brown). Nothing from the hotel (Blau Varadero) other than white sand. Went a ways out on a kayak and there where small reefs below but seemed quite deep. Food, like what you read and hear "one doesn't go to Varadero for the food", nothing special, there's lots and lots of selections, just that they need a little help in how to cook. Walked away with a full belly every meal though. |

![]() While the resorts don't serve "gourmet" meals, some of the best food I've ever eaten was in a Casa Particular in Havana. Anyone going there, try to stay in one of these "bed & breakfast" type accomodations. The highlight of my trip to Cuba was staying with a local family for a week!
