I dont see how she is asking for the other policy holder when there isnt one. Its just you right? Who is this mystery policy holder she is asking to speak with? Your husband? If so just get him to call in and biotch her out.

I would have a guy call and try to navigate past her, then have him pass the phone to you. Where is the office located? Could you go there personally? That's maddening. I feel agitated and it's not even happening to me.

I think I'm going to have a guy call and see what happens. I keep everything in my name with just initials (too many people feel the need to fight with me about what my name is).

This is just out of hand. Its been a month now, with no progress.

Its actually just me, so I'm not sure who she is alluding to.

Huh Ask for the name of the person on the policy she wants to talk to. If you are the only name on the policy this is very bizarre. If it is a joint policy the company could legitimately need both policy holders? consent. I recently needed a letter signed by my wife to be faxed to our insurance company before they would cancel the policy on a car we sold.

The trick to making progress is to find out exactly what they need. If they need written consent from all individuals on the policy and they understand you are the only person on the policy they should deal with you.

Insurance company complaints can be sent to the Insurance Bureau of Canada.

Here's a link that has the provincial bodies that handle different types of complaints.

The insurance links are near the bottom.

I'd be thinking bring up the Human Rights Commission and discrimination rather than Consumer Affairs.

Yes, especially if you can get something in writing. Otherwise it's pretty hard to accuse a woman of sexual discribination against another woman.
