HEATER FAILED AGIAN! Any brand/style recommendations?

i have 2 ebo-jagers, one on my cichlid tank and one on my reef tank, and i must say that I've never had a problem with those heaters since day one. durable accurate and not too pricy imo-

and assuming you set it correctly it holds a steady temperature, i came home from a 10-day vacation, to find an inch of evaporation and still a solid temperature of 27 degrees celc.

I second the ebo jagers. Theyve been running pretty good for me in the past 6 months. The only problem that Ive had is the suction cups failing but that can be fixed easily. Other that its been very accurate.

sorry thats one thing i forgot to mention, the suction cups are really annoying to adjust to the glass, and assuming you do not break the heater while attaching the suction cups it should serve you a long time...

yeah it's the same thing. here's my vote for the mick jager heaters. Ive used a few visitherm stealth heaters as well and they've been great for me too.

Never depend on suction cups. Never. Eventually, they will let you down.

Assume that your heater thermostats will eventually fail. Limit your risk by using 2 or more (undersized) heaters. It is extremely unlikely that they will all fail at the same time and failure in one won't be enough to kill your tank.

Okay i have a 58 gallon right now (Including sump)
And im moving to a 85(Including sump)
In a few weeks so what wattage of heats and how many?
Im really sick of loosing fish and corals because my heater screwed up...

yup thats the one, runs like a charm, i have a 150-watt ebo-jager on my 33 gallon, so i'm thinking a 250-watt for you would do it, it says that 250-watts are for tanks up to 90 gallons so ya-

There's my advice! That's what I do. I've had one of the two stick on, and it only raised the tank temperature by 2 degrees because it was undersized.

dont you have a elite on your cichlid tank?
