I thought Chuck was just posing for the camera. I'm glad he turned around. Otherwise, I would have just got a pic of his back since I walked past them already.

I stayed at Mandalay Bay and booked through Expedia. There was a huge sale from Expedia so I took it. It worked out to be about the same price as Excalibur.

There are a million things to do in Vegas. It'll take a few days just to do hotel hopping on the Strip. That's fun. Mirage has the Secret Garden. Flamingo has Wildlife Habitat. MGM has the Lions Habitat. If you like amusement rides and you are nuts, there are the X Scream and the Insanity rides on top of the Statrosphere. There is also indoor skydiving at the Convention Center.

There are lots of shows of course. Lots of people like Cirque du Soleil. There are various magic shows like Lance Burton. I liked Siegfried and Roy (though they don't perform anymore). Toni Braxton is at the Flamingo. I enjoyed Tournament of Kings at Excalibur.

If you walk along the strip, there are free shows in front of some hotels. Bellagio has a water fountain show, Mirage has the volcano, and Treasure Island has the Sirens show. Freemont Street has an incredible light show at night. Don't miss that.

Buffets are popular. If you like King Crab, a few of the hotels have all-you-can-eat buffets with King Crab on the menu. Mandalay Bay is one of those.

Also, if you are interested, the Sky Walk at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon is open. You get to walk several yards over the canyon on a glass floor. It costs $75 if you drive there on your own. Otherwise there are tours which cost around $150-$200 which includes admission to the Sky Walk.

If you are planning to stay on the strip and there are 2 or more people in your group, taking a taxi from the airport to your hotel might be more cost efficient. The taxi is about $15 and gets you there faster. The bus is about $6/person.
