pheeww.. ok, thanx, was getting freaked out like i had a super stealth hermit or something.. lol.. or one that killed one of mine and took his shell.
 So what happens when they outgrow their shell?.. or can they in an aquarium?

You need to provide them lots of empty shells all different sizes. Without a variety of shells to choose from they will take shells from other crabs.
