Default Percula or Oscillarus?

I bought this guy as "supposedly" a True Percula. I talked to the guy about getting another one for a pair and the way he referred to the Perc vs Os makes me wonder if he actually sold me an Oscillaris...?

Percula or Oscillaris:

I've been told that the black stripes on Percs are thicker than Oce's

True percs often have more black on the white bands but the only way to know for sure is to count the rays in the dorsal fin. One has more than the other although I can't remember which atm.

I have a faint memory of this from many years ago too! LOL! Problem is the little fish is a wuss and darts behind the rocks when I come up to the tank. Might be hard to get a dorsal ray count... Google tells me that Percula has 10 dorsal rays (rarely 9), and Oscellaris has 11 (rarely 10). So...apparently it's not a 100% deciding factor. But, it says for Oscellaris that they have thin black bars or none at all.

I think my guy's a Perc after all.

Thanks for replies everyone!
