The way i got rid of the "water fall" effect on my 75 was a gate valve on the return line, worked well for a year. I know it's risky, but it worked. The only noise you heard from my tank was the skimmer. Just a word to the wise have a grate of some sort on the standpipe and a float switch on the return pump. I'll make you sleep better at night.
