I second that Catherine , Bath is indeed a lovely city. If travelling north Chester is wonderfully intact as a medieval town and also boasts a first class zoo.
The whole of the U.K . has well preserved castles and beautiful mansions and cathedrals. Many are run by the National Trust www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ - ....................Dave |

I agree that Bath is lovely, but consider Cornwall. Not as urban as most of the south. If you like hikes I would suggest the cliff walk from Trebarwith Strand to Tintagel (King Arthur's castle). Here is a link to a list of public aquariums in the UK:

We'll be staying with relatives in Heysham which is just up the coast from Blackpool. I should be heading south at some point towards Stonhenge then London.
