The main reason why is that tangs are swimmers and need the length to swim that larger tanks provide. They motor from one end of the tank to the other. Other fish like angels kind of just swim around. |

![]() I too agree. I have a 65g tank and some time ago I over anxiously purchased a small yellow tang. While small, the fish was fine but like the others have said, now that it has grown, the 3' length of the tank just doesn't give him enough room to swim freely. He is from one end to the other so quickly, it's just not enough space
