I believe they were pretty new but perhaps a bad set. Will check 'em again. Everything else works fine, including the shutter opening, which usually does not with weak batteries.

i had a kodak easyshare do that and the sutter wouldnt open ether.kodak said there is a defect with the cam and they wont do nothin about it so iam out 900 bucks, i would contact sony to see what they can do for you if its a comon problem with lots of cams.
