Likely he will eat the shrimp, or just pick its legs off If you do try a shrimp make sure its a big one.

With the tank being so small, likely he'll be living on his own from now on. Most other small fishes for a nano are too docile to put in with a dottyback.

I had a shrimp and a purpledotty back in my 6 gallon nano. The dottyback bullied my shrimp, who had been living in the tank much longer, and I eventually riped apart the tank to get the dottyback out.
