![]() oh people.
Just passing along a what I thought was a deal fr Princess Auto and no I don't work for then. I've been looking around for a bit for a small unit more for just charging batteries on the trailer than anything else, Had been looking at the 1000w Honda but just couldn't justify $1200 for probably not more than a few hours each year. I was planning on going solar but when I seen this figure hey, even if it craps out, cheap enough to try. As for my tank, it's big enough to run my total system but for my halides but in a power outage would probably only run a heater and my sump return pump, and it perfectly suitable for those. As for ****ing off the neighbors, the db rating is the same of that Honda that costs 8 times as much (57dB). |

![]() something anyone looking for a backup is this
http://www.residential.carrier.com/p...estandby.shtml Its from carrier (furnace people) runs about 8-12 circuits, which is plenty to keep most of your tank equipment running and a couple of house lights. Runs on Natural Gas, so no worries about having to fill up a tank, and it is relativly quite. I'm looking at puting one in this summer provided I can convince my better half.

![]() I have natural gas running to my home and when I lost power for THREE days earlier December when the big snow storms hit, I wouldn't have lost 100 percent of my saltwater tank. Who sells it in BC and how much does it cost?

![]() I picked one up at Costco in the summer for around $300, it was the last day of $100 off so I grabbed one. I've only lost power once (knock on wood) for 1 1/2 hours and that was back during the first storm. I set it up in the doorway of my shed with the exhaust pointing out. It is fairly loud and would probably not go over well with the neighbors if I ran it all night. The muffler has a spot that an extension can be added and I want to put a pipe through the side of the shed and close the door and that might make the noise level acceptable.
120g; Mag 9 - Return Dart - CL G2 - Skimmer 150W - Heater 4x48" - VHO Lighting 2x48" - T5 Lighting 25g; Aqua clear 500 100w heater Remora skimmer Were all running of the Gen and I was just about to plug in the fridge but the power came back on. Costco still has these for just under $400, I think. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
