![]() You can buy a product at some shops called Tiger Pods, comes in a bottle around 20 bucks. Also there is vivid reef, they sell all kinds of live foods.

![]() I would also like live pods- Can these pods (from vivid reef) basically just be put in your tank and then create a self sustaining population? Or are these pods that are sold just a food source that wont replenish itself in the tank and that needs to be regularly added?

![]() i know the pods from vivid reef come in as live pods. they are special ordered in so guarantee the life of the pods. hidden reef can order them in, i've seen them there. tiger pods (in the bottle) have been getting a big rave lately. personally havent used them but they are also an option. vivid reef ones are cheaper though

![]() I went to the vivid reef link and they said they only sell to stores and do not do orders. Did I miss something or is this true? If they do only sell to stores what would the product be called?

![]() i had tried doing the tigger pods. However, I found them to be slow at reproducing and dumped the two cultures I had going into my main tank.
they are easy to keep alive at least in a small container. IMO a bit slow at reproducing. If you are looking at reproducing something to feed your tank, I would suggest rotifers. easy setup and double almost daily. the tiggerpods would, as far as I know, would need to be fed wherever they are. If that is in your tank, that could become expensive. (more food is required) I may be wrong though and they could be able to just eat whatever is in the tank. the tigger pods are not that big though. I think some people confuses the amphipods(which can get up to about .5 cm and are in most mature tanks) are what you will get when u order the tiggerpods. at least I did when I ordered them. However, tigger pods are about the size of a flea. sill pretty tiny. hope this helps. I ended up buying my stuff from http://www.reed-mariculture.com/aquaculture/ good site, really good people to work with. Definitely recommended. a bit expensive but honestly, I don't mind paying a bit more for the good advice and good product. just my 2 cents worth Neal
