thanks. i plan to build my rock work in stages and add water as each level gets completed. so it will be "dry" until i'm done then i'll add water to cover that level of rock and so on.

That's pretty much how I did mine along with a pvc rack. It helps the bond to wet the rocks when applying the cement. It'll set-up in a matter of minutes.
