This is my modified Phosban reactor that I turned into a Kalk reactor. This picture was taken while the mixing pump was mixing 2 tablespoons of kalk. Once the pump is off and it settles, the top portion of the reactor contains clear fluid. The reactor sits in my top off reservoir as I never trust anything not to leak.
Details:
Housing: Phosban reactor
Mixing Pump: Quiet One 1200
Feeding Pump: Tunze Osmolator dosing pump
Check valve: John Guest 1/4" check valve
Other fittings attached to the Phosban Reactor:
- 1/4" male threaded quick connect fitting
- 1/4" male threaded quick connect fitting with control valve
Water from my Tunze Osmolator is split into 2 lines. One line goes into my Kalk reactor and the other line goes directly into the tank. I control the amount of water going in and out of the Kalk reactor through a valve. Now, when my Tunze Osmolator kicks in to top off my tank, about 10% of the top-off water is highly kalk-saturated water from the reactor and the other 90% is fresh water straight from my reservoir.
