Default Vibrations under a Mag18

Just wondering if the rubber pad is necessary under a mag 18. It is sitting in my sump humming along sitting directly on the glass bottom. I can feel vibrations on the glass sides, it appears the pump is working fine. Is this likely to crack my piece of glass on the bottom of my 25gal sump?

had the same thing with my mag 7, i just couldnt stand the noise so i put a bit of filter floss between so i couldnt hear the constant buzzing sound...i dont think it would crack your glass but thats my opinion...dont msg me if it does . how thick is the glass btw..

The tank is a standard 25gal from the pet store, probably 1/4 inch or 3/16, hard to tell exactly, thanks for your input,
