Been reading a lot on aquatraders and these lighting units, some have had them work for years, others have had the ballasts fizzle after plugging them in.

I am not going to risk it, my main reasoning is due to the increased potential fire hazard due to cheap ballasts.

Apparantly the fixtures themselves are quite nice looking though, so I might consider buying a fixture, gutting it, and installing my own ballasts and bulbs.

Just a FYI.

Aquatraders has pretty bad rep on RC.

Yeah, that is why I re-posted my concerns after providing the link.

Thanks guys. More comments welcome especially if there's anyone here who's actually bought one of these.

Default not bad for the price

Hi Steve I bought one from E-bay before and the lights came and the bulbs was broken. However I see this seller will send new bulbs if they are damaged.

My lights worked great and is the same as the Coralife ones I had before. The only thing I had a hard time was the Jebo lights only had one switch for the lights so I can not get the actinics to come on first. I had to spend some extra effort to work it around.

Cheers

Yeah I'm thinking now of just going with a retrofit kit or two. Probably just end up buying local.
