MH on a 28 Gallon Bowfront

I am building a new stand and canopy, but is is a slow moving project so far..............

OK I have bought some lumber to build a new stand and canopy

I was planning to stop using the bell part when I mount things in the canopy so hopefully things will be better then.

I was planning to use the type of reflector that the bulb runs paralell to the front of the tank, and incorperating the guts from my coralife PC for actintic (SP?) supplimentation.


Hope this doesn't turn out to be a bad purchase!!

Any tips on where to purchase the above mentioned reflector in Calgary? I am looking for a 24" one

Everytihng works great, however I am deffinately not getting the light spread I was with PC lighting. If anyone has a suggestion as to where I could obtain a well priced horizontal pendant, or a reflector and bracket to mount the socket sideways I would be very greatful.

would it be possible to remove the pc lights, and plastic shield from my coralife fixture, and mount the MH lamp inside?

Would it get too hot for the fixture?

You could probably get all you metal halide supplies at the local hydroponics store like U-Grow.
