I had a Rubbermaid sump for a good while. Workes well. I had the skimmer, pumps and heaters all in a 2x2.5' container, as for the bubble issue, I used sheets of plastic to surround the intake of the return pump, which eliminated them. Its a great way to do a mechanical sump on a cheap budget.
