![]() Well to test out how much water my overflow can handle I decided to re-fill the sump and tank and see what happens.....
Well.. I'll be posting a pic or two shortly. Lets just say I am running the WHOLE output of my Ampmaster through my tank. The flow is unbelieveable. I am amazed the overflow can handle the water going through it. I now know what close to 3000 GPH feels like through 1.5" plumbing. :D 66.6x's turnover is sweet.. Beautiful circulation in the main tank. To say the least.    ![]() ![]() ![]() [ 21 May 2002, 17:58: Message edited by: DJ88 ] |

![]() Are you sure you are not going to have any micro bubble problems?

![]() Jonathan,
I am not going to run the full 3000 GPH into the tank. Some will be T'd off to my bullet skimmer. Altho as long as the water was high enough in the last baffle I didn't have much of a bubble problem. Wierdly enough. If the refugium does handle the nutrient export well enough at least I know I can use all the power the pump has to offer if I decided to take off the skimmer at anytime. :D Even with the water flow I will have I am adding a MAG9 closed loop to increase the circulation even more anyways. So if I was to do that I guess I'd have about 80x's turnover.. ;) I don't want to use one PH at all. [ 21 May 2002, 21:13: Message edited by: DJ88 ] |

![]() Darren:
With that amount of flow and one overflow box, how is the noise of the overflow. Even with the Durso I imagine there is still a fair bit of noise. |

![]() The only real noise seems to be the air being sucked into the durso. I'll be putting some form of muffler on it tho with a needle valve to control air flow. The standpipe does shake a lot.. ;)
