Yes, it's totally too low. I just don't want to cut that wonderful black hose that comes with it, ha, ha, ha. I keep going to Rona to pick up stuff, ya think that I'd remember to pick up some 5/8" I.D hose? I am also planning to place it into a sump when I set up my 65gal tank, so that length will work perfectly for that application.

Anyways, it's totally working fine for me right now. It did however take a while to adjust to the low pump height.
