I need to test out a 2x65watt PC balast. Does anyone have spent buls that I can use? Might consider buying the bulbs after.

55 gallon cube - 50 lbs LR - ASM G3 skimmer - 30 Gallon sump - 22 Gallon refugium / frag tank - 4x 24 watt HO T5's - Mag 9.5 return - Pin Point PH monitor - 400 watt XM 20K MH in Lumenarc reflector - Dual stage GFO/NO3 media reactor - 6 stage RODI auto top up -Wavemaster Pro running 3 Koralia 2's.

Fully stocked with fish, corals and usually some fine scotch

I have a couple I just switched out, 1yr old.

Acutally they are 55w actinic & 55w 10K Square pin. I had them both on a 65pc ballast.

Danny - square or straight pin? I have some 55W straights that should work on an electronic ballast.

I have both square, and straight pin 65's I am more than ready to let you try.

Hi, they are straight pin I beleive, 4 pins in a row. Alan, will 55 watt bulbs work on a 65 watt balast, or will they just blow the bulbs? I guess since both of you guys are up there I could try either or. I didn't bring the balast with me today, I'll pm to set something up.

AFAIK, the 65W electronic ballast will fire either just fine.

You think correctly Alan. A 65W ballast will run 55W tubes no problem.
