Some pictures of the reservoir from last night.

"Don't go swimming" ... Um .. OK.

Are you sure? I'm not so sure. I think this may be the first time it's overflowed uncontrolled. I can't find any info to confirm it spilled over before. If you find anything can you post it?

how far north and east has been getting rain? I am wondering if all my family's farms are getting the water they so desperately need.

I know squat about farming but figure this kind of rain doesn't help the farmers or the water table levels.

actually it does, light rain just gets the ground wet in the first few inches, but heavy rain like you had saturates the soil so any more goes deeper and deeper, also causes the rivers, lakes etc to rise again which all increases the amount in the water table.

but it would have been better to get it a month ago befor crops are planted.

Edmonton has gotten some rain....a few times there has been good downpoors....but nothing big....like last year lol. Hopefully we get more rain around here.

The farmers are definetly needing this for sure! Over the last few years at my acreage the field has suffered badly...used to get stuff 4ft high...now the highest stuff is 2ft(natural alfalfa and grasses). Our ponds also dried up so much you could drive a truck across them......they used to be 4ft deep....

I hope ya'll dont get flooded though!
