Two tanks one sump- good idea?

I have a 180G and a 120G running off the same sump. The tanks are across the room from one another. The plumbing runs approx 30 feet through a false wall to the sump. I have a 90g sump with an ampmaster 3600 supplying water to each of the tanks.The advantage to me was less maintenace less equipment less time testing.
