I used a 1" bulkhead on the overflow for my 15g but I don't know how much they can actually flow. Might want to go bigger, maybe 1 1/2 or more. If you are using two tho, maybe if both were 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 that would be fine... anyone else?

They have 1 1/2" at HD, got some when I was building my system. But I had piped averything in the end. And liek Darren said, you will have vibrations transmitted to everything. I will now be breaking into my straight sections and installing hose to reduce vibrations.

well it has started. I did have to modify it a little.. I basicly made it 4.5' long and 25" wide and took off the top level. I will figure out a different way to mount the refuge.

the two main frames also have a cross brace which wasen't in yet when I took the pics.

Shane, sorry for the long time befor a reply I was in edmonton and coulden't log in, but ya my house has no basement and I am on a concreat slab so weight is not a concern.

well thinks are starting to happen, I ordered my 90 gal tank (36l x 25w x 24h) yesterday and bought a titanium heater. today I finnished welding my stand and bought the paint for it. (start painting tomorrow) I also bought 280lbs of dolomite for my sand bed, another 3 bulb ballast so I can over drive my actinics, and the last set of water proof endcaps I need. I am going to snap a couple more pics tomorrow of the stand as it sits so far.

Hey Steve,

what ballasts are you gonna use to overdrive your actinics? Are you using 3 lamps? VHO lamps or NO lamps?

I want to run 3 VHO or overdriven 36" actinic on my tank.

Thanks,
oh ya, what kind of endcaps are you using?
