I don't think its too much flow for your fish. On my 50G, I have a Sequence Dart running (3600GPH) on a closed loop and a very small return pump pumping about 150 - 200GPH. My fish aren't even phased by it. Also, as long as you don't put coral in a direct blasting path of the water, it should be ok.
