Quick question I just got a Fug from someone and it has string algea in it, But the the water that it was in got frozen solid. Will the string algea be okay or is it just trash now???

Since it was frozen, most if not all of the cell membranes have probably ruptured, so when it thaws it might just be a puddle of goo...the algea might make it, but I wouldn't hold my breath...

You can probably get some from someone at the meet today if you need.

Well the water has defrosted now and is up to temp and it all seems to have held it's shape but now that I look more closely at it, it doesn't look to be string algea at all....I don't really know what it is....i will take it out and keep it off to the side and see if it does anything.....I am going to need some string algae then!!

Harvey is right, there will probably be plenty of macro algae at the meet... I know I'm bringing a baggie full
