Default What are the best heaters???

I have 2 Visi-Therm heaters what crap, I have had I blow up, the one I use to make water for water changes is now full of water (less than 1 month old) and the one that replaced the one that blew up is not staying on (just over 1 month old)

What do you all use and how long has it been going for you on what size tank?

Thanks

Robert

I have three 200watt tronics, two 100watt tronics, and one 200 watt ebo-jager heater. The tronics have been used in both freshwater and saltwater applications, and the ebo-jager has only been used in freshwater applications. The oldest heater (a 200w tronic) has been running for about four years straight, the ebo-jager about three years. I've never run into problems with either heater.

Ebo-jagers are tried & true technology. I've been using them since the early to mid-80s. Never had a problem.

I buy nothing but the Ebos now.
Never had a problem yet.

Although I do have a 200W Tronic that I have had for years with no problems either.

I've had 4 Ebos fail in me in the past 6 years. Never again. (They're now sold as Jagers under Eheim packaging, btw)
I've switched over to Tronics. I tend to be a little leery of Hagen stuff, but electronic heaters are the way to go if you aren't using a controller. If it fails, that means it fails OFF. I'd sooner come in to see my fish crabby with ich because the water dropped to 70 degrees than to come in smelling Euphyllia soup because it overheated to the mid-90s.

I've had Ebo's explode.

I still have some running, Tronics are mostly what I have been replacing with. Going to do some other options soon.

I find Won Bothers heaters are the ultimate in heating technology. They even come with a LCD display on them to tell you your tank temp.
