![]() Hi Everyone,
Currently running 2 older AI Sol Blu lights on my RSM c250 and was planning on adding my Kessil 360aw once my older tank was shutdown. I was worried with the AI Sol's being so old. I found and ordered a Hydra 52 off eBay for $250 and it's in great working order and ordered a diffuser. I could just add the Hydra on it's own but because I've ordered the HMS Rail light mount I could keep the Sols on the ends to spread the light more evenly. AI Sols on either side front to back AI Hydra in the middle left to right Is this a dumb plan and should I just use the AI Hyra on it's own? thanks |

![]() So... not sure ehat size tank that is? 36" long?
Depending on the aquascape, the 52 may or may not light the tank nicely. The sols while they are old, I have heard they are still great lights. I'd probably use all 3 if you can get them mounted all nicely together.

![]() Here's what I learned:
- 1 Hydra 52 didn't quite light the corners and had some shadowing I didn't like compared to the AI Sols. I even bought a diffuser. 2 Hydra 26s would have been best. - Many corals reacted positively to the Hydra vs AI Sols - Eventually I mounted all 3 and it's looking much better with even lighting.
