There should be no issues dumping it down the toilet or the sink and the risk of rust is negligible as it goes straight down the sewer and there is minimal chance of standing water in the piping.

In other words there is nothing to really worry about.

Agreed there's minimal risk.
To feel better dump 5g of tapwater down the drain when you're done.

Thanks for the feedback, i think down the toilet with a few flushes after should be fine
