Once, had a tank that was 6 years old. I stop doing water changes once i notice i didn't need to. It when on for another 5 or 6 years or so. Then one day the light die. I didnt have a replacement or the money for a used one at the time. Used a table lamp for a week before i get a replacement but that was too late...
