![]() Hi Everyone,
Looking for some advice on replacing my lighting on my 28g JBJ Nano-Cube.This tank has been running for 7+ years. Previously transferred from my 5 year RSM 130 which cracked one night randomly. I replaced the lighting a few years ago with Pro Supply LEDs but all the LEDs have died recently so I'm looking at a replacement. Tank Dimensions: 18" Wide X 22" Deep (front to back) X 22" High This is always been an ULM tank with hardy fish and kept it coral free until recently. I have a lot more time while I work from home. I am now aiming to keep softies and a few lps corals like Hammers, torch, frogspawn. I have Xenia, mushrooms, Zoos and GSP/ I've ordered a Red Sea DIY Mesh Hood which I'm not sure will work well with my Bow front but a small gap should be fine I hope. I am looking at two lighting options. I'd prefer to stay on the cheap but will spend on the AI Prime 16HD is I have to. Any thoughts on the 50w or the 100w of this NICREW lighting? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08...W4KOEZQ4&psc=1 $120 is a good price but you get what you pay for.. :| Thanks for your advice |

![]() I have no experience with the NICREW light, but on the subject of cheaper lights, I had success on a 24x12x16 20 gallon softie/LPS tank with a single Fluval Marine Nano. I was growing duncan, acan, mini anemone, ricordea, torch, and gorgonean. It is only 20 watts but above 70% power I started to burn the corals after switching from T8, and it has a nice programmable bluetooth ap. They are around $150.

![]() Get a used AI prime, that's perfect up to a 24x24 tank. You can grow anything with that light. That's what I use on my 20G SPS frag tank.
