![]() Well yesterday my wife sprayed some deodourizing spray around the house including my fish room. Immediately all the lps and sofies buttoned right up. I did a quick emergancy water change hoping for the best. Well today I found my urchin and one of my favorite fish Rainy (rainsford gobi) didn't make it through the night. Corals seem to be recovering. Just thought I'd pass along this warning about keeping your air quality pure as well as your water.

![]() Thanks Beverly.
Yup I replaced the carbon (always run some) during water change. Just forgot to mention that. Air Freshener!!! I knew it was called that but couldn't come up with it. In mourning I guess. |

![]() I use the "Frebreze" and always worry about useing it around the living room near the tank.I remember when I was younger how my mother accidently killed a pair of finches when she sprayed some air freshener in the room.

![]() Anything that's in the air in close proximity to your tank, especially if you are running an air pump, has a good chance of making it into the tank.
Sorry to hear about your losses. That's tough but hopefully the rest of us will learn from your experience so it won't be in vain.

![]() I always wonder that if it kills fish and birds and other small animals, is it also harmful to us? Maybe just not fatal because we are so much larger than our small pets. We also need to have clean air. Adding extra chemicals to the air on purpose doesn't seem like a logical thing to do.
I never have and never will use products like fabreez and other "air sanitizers". Just my opinion.
