![]() As we continue in this hobby we buy coral, lose coral, fret over coral and agonize when it doesn't do well but when it does do well we tend to be very proud of our achievement
As this is an expansive subject and list I've grouped several types to one group or another

![]() My favorite is my FrogSpawn and Hammer coral I've had both from the start and have survived all my mistakes, crashes and mishandling from having around a dozen heads at the beginning I am well into the 100+ heads mark now and it is my pride and joy

![]() I have had all kinds of corals that I have grown. I enjoy the challenge of sps as they are the most finickiest corals to care for, it is hard enough to keep them alive let alone color adjustment using varieties of options chemical additives. So, for me, it is extremely rewarding to bring them to their full potential.

![]() For me it's red mushrooms. Regular discosoma. Why? They are the first coral I ever bought in 2005. I've actually gotten rid of the colony several times in the earlier years when I was not sentimental about the first coral and moved onto other species. Yes they are pretty bulletproof but as I already said I've got rid of them in the past only to have one or 2 pop up on the rock. They have survived 2 upgrades, one downgrade, several breakdowns from tank crashes and a 700km move that included 6 weeks in a holding tank before the reef was properly setup again.
I've lost at least 100 nicer corals since then probably a lot more. $1000s of dollars for sure, there are dozens of nicer corals in my tank now but I still have what started it all for me. |
