I got a blue ridge a couple months back from this fella! Looking great so far! If you lay it down it will first spread and encrust the surrounding rock. It will grow fingers upwards when its found a happy place. Mine is still spreading nicely, should start poping upwards soon.

Sorry I missed these posts earlier. Reyphox is right, lay it down and it will encrust first then put up spikes.
