SPS NEWBIE - damage to birdsnest..

So I'm guessing my new scallop decided to gow for a swim and knocked over my pristine birds next coral.

There were a bunch of tips damaged and some tissue die off...
I clipped the white ends (not too sure if I should have done that)...

Some tissue blew off in the current and when I used the pippete on it....

Is there anything I can do to help it along ???

I think I'm going to have scallop for dinner,,, just one...
