![]() so I recently bought a Siganus magnificus, which prompted a good conversation as the guy was trying to catch it at Golds. It was a conversation about notable stings etc that we can remember over the years. I've worked in a LFS in Halifax for 10 years, followed by some marine aquarium aquaculture in Florida for about 7 years. Lots of interesting experiences, sometimes when scuba diving as well.
Believe it or not, of all the venomous things I've worked with, the animals I've encountered underwater, the most notable was when I was the broodstock manager working with Amphiprion spp. Try taking eggs away from different brooders several times a day... that ain't fun. They 'know' the sweet spot is the soft tissue between the fingers! My most recent was a brush against some fire coral in Cozumel, scuba diving through some swim-throughs in December. So, tell us about some notable & memorable injuries you've had over the years in the hobby... cracked heaters & salt creep on lights don't count--we've all been jolted. An electric catfish... now that's a story... Last edited by Reef_Geek; 02-18-2014 at 03:28 AM. |
