Default Acropora granulosa

Easily one of the most vivid and captivating of the Acropora species. Acropora granulosa has a wide spread and distribution in the hobby due to its abundance on the reefs as well as its wild plethora of variances in colour combinations. This coral displays a vividly radiant sheen when in good health that is not only pleasing to the eye but hard to capture on film.

Yet another smoothed skinned acro, it inhabits the reef slopes as well as just about any reef environment that provides shelter from extreme wave action. It's growth pattern is uni-directional and plating, consisting mainly of horizontal branches with compact upturned branchlets. Incipient axial corallites are easily distinguishable from radial corallites. The radial corallites are small and pocket-like, while incipient axial corallites are fully formed, usually accompanied by a nice ring of colour surrounding the terminal polyp.

For good colour, place it in a low light area of the reef tank with moderate, non-linear flow and lots of horizontal space to grow, though colonies don't typically grow more than a meter wide in the wild, It's size can still quickly exhaust available space in the home reef. Bone cutters sold separately
