absolutely , we had several tanks that we did this too , like dave said the idea was to make it a cleaner look but for some of the large tanks it couldnt handle it.

right now we go with a machined 1/4" notches for all tanks.

i have spoken with trevor on the phone and we are in the works of getting this resolved quickly for him.

in the mean time trevor just break off the current teeth you have this will allow you to finish up with your plumbing, i will have new acrylic out to you immediately
