Relax Brent - they do that (throw their claws) as a last-ditch defensive manoeuver. They should be back with the next molt.
Not to worry.  The bigger concern is doing a proper (long) acclimation when moving between tanks. They are very sensitive to changes in SG, and can be killed easily this way.
