Stumpy,the green brittle star

I've been searching for info on leg regeneration for green brittle stars(mine has dropped a complete leg).The leg is still moving around the tank(been about a week)so I guess its still alive?He is eating well and active.
Will he regrow another leg and will the detached limb grow into another star??...
