The packaging it came in said you could bury it under "gravel" maybe sand substrate holds the heat in more? Maybe that made it blow? I do have it in the back chamber of the ibox and it does fit perfectly.....now as long as it doesn't blow it'll be all good
Possibly as my planted tanks always had gravel, the sand then planting substrate, so its probably a good insulation :P I think youll be just fine
